Community Groups
What are Community Groups?
Community Groups are a place where Christians can enjoy the fellowship they have with one another through Christ. In our groups, it’s common for the members to share details about their lives, confess sin to one another, and celebrate the highs and lows of life.
In order to foster this kind of environment among believers, we require that a person be a member of the church in order to attend adult Community Groups. Joining a Community Group is part of the membership process.
While we understand that this may create a barrier of entry for some, we’ve found that this helps ensure Community Groups are what they’re designed to be: a place for Christians to find community with one-another. If you’d like to meet and get to know the people of the church before joining, you can attend an event held throughout the year or attend Midweek Discipleship on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm.
Community Groups Members Commit to:
• Discussing and applying the sermon weekly
• Gathering together for fellowship monthly
• Serving on mission together quarterly
• Praying for Unreached People Groups and Missionaries
• Loving, praying for, and serving one-another
How do I join a Community Group?
If you’re a guest or visitor, Starting Point is the Community Group for you! At Starting Point, you’ll learn more about what we believe at Clear Lake Baptist Church and how to become a member.
After becoming a member, you’ll meet with a pastor to discuss Community Group options. You can either start a new Community Group with other members or join an existing Community Group that’s the best fit for you and your family.
